Does anyone know if Mustangs need a special battery or will any good one work fine?
Hi everyone, I'm hoping there are some fellow Mustang owners here who can help me out because I'm getting conflicting information from different places and I don't know who to trust. I have a 2018 Mustang GT that I bought about a year ago and I absolutely love this car. It's my daily driver and I take good care of it because I want it to last a long time. Last week I noticed the engine was cranking a little slower than usual in the mornings and yesterday the battery warning light came on for a few seconds when I started the car. I know this means the battery is probably on its way out and I should replace it before I get stranded somewhere. I called a few garages to ask about prices and one of them told me that Mustangs need a special type of battery with higher cold cranking amps because of the big engine. Another place told me that's nonsense and any battery that fits physically will work just fine. I'm really confused because I don't want to spend extra money on something I don't need but I also don't want to put the wrong battery in my car and cause problems down the road. I started looking online for more information and I found a company that claims to be Mustang battery replacement experts Abu Dhabi which sounds perfect because they should know exactly what my car needs. But I'm also a little skeptical because anyone can claim to be an expert on the internet you know. I want to ask them some questions before I decide to use their service but I'm not sure what I should be asking. Should I ask about the brand of battery they use and where it's made? Should I ask about the warranty period and whether it covers the full replacement or just a prorated amount? Also is there any special procedure for changing a battery in a Mustang like resetting the computer or something? I've heard that some modern cars need to have the new battery registered to the car's computer system so the charging system works properly. Is that true for Mustangs as well or is that just for luxury European cars? I would really appreciate any advice from Mustang owners who have replaced their battery recently. What did you pay and where did you go? Did you notice any difference in how the car started or ran after the new battery was installed? Thanks so much for your help everyone.
